Blood Samurai 2 GUI, AUTO FARM MONEY – The sound of running feet wakes him from his investigation and he turns, smiling to see you racing towards him.His blind eye throbbed in its socket, with the memory of those vicious black talons that had swept across his face so many years ago. That same spark he saw so long ago, buried but ever burning beneath it all.Staying late, Harry, Cisco, and Caitlin were in the cortex. We need answers.

Who could say? Saber had the decency to look away and it was quiet for a moment while the two finished eating.Len broke it and sighed after he rinsed off his plate.

We have an agreement. The Grail War stays outside the school grounds. He was just going to have to suffer through her laughter. Her thinking she knows who your servant is, is going to be a huge advantage.Saber just smiled and shook his head.Len Stood there for a few seconds trying to figure out how the heck Saber thought that before realizing he needed to get heading to school.

By the time he slid into his assigned seat though, he settled on Saber just being an ego maniac.Archer is getting killed by Pythor before much happens. Not important.Caster is Clouse.Hence him taking on a care giving role.Hidden in between were those unfortunate enough to end their journey in a place like this, abandoned by their rivals or hitmen too lazy to attempt hiding a body within the guts of the city.

If they had a working car, and almost all of them did, it was way easier to just drive whatever was left of their target and dump it to be devoured by rats and whatever else evolved enough to survive in a place like this.A small step, but even at the beginning he tried to have standards. As if the hurricane had swept through the place, some of the furniture was tilted over, a pile of clothes, dangerously balanced on an overfilled laundry basket, threatened to collapse and spill over at any moment.

A half-finished box of noodles laid abandoned on the counter, accompanied by a mosaic of pills from a knocked over bottle.Viktor found V curled up on the floor next to her bed, wearing a washed-out Samurai t-shirt and sweatpants, covers dragged along with her halfway between the linoleum and the mattress. He could barely see her face from the way she was bundled up.Viktor started to have an idea of what he was dealing with here, has seen the wreckage that offensive hacking can cause many times before.

Viktor opened his bag and pulled out a small, remote biomonitor. It took a few seconds to fully calibrate, but eventually, the screen lit up.While it was loading, Viktor propped it up on the wall and grabbed V to lay her on her back to make the job easier for himself, and pulled out a few small gel-filled Ice-Pax.He knew she probably needed more, but those will have to do for now.

Just as Viktor placed two under her arms and another on her groin, the monitor beeped. He let out a long sigh.Patients never did, but it still might be worth a shot.RAM damages were problematic in their very nature but pretty easy to fix once caught, not much of his medical knowledge needed.Flipping the ice packs, he took a quick glance at her temperature and was glad to see that it had started to slowly go down, followed by her pulse and blood pressure, all three leaving the life-threatening territory.

None of them were quite to his liking just yet, but at least now Viktor was sure V would pull through.Minding the biomonitor still plugged into her, Viktor leaned down to lift V and put her on the bed.Taking the covers from the floor, he put them on her, straightening the wrinkled material intuitively.Having done that, Viktor grabbed her arm and carefully inserted the needle. To his relief, it went in on the first try.Stepping up on the edge of the bed frame, he placed the bag there, and after making sure that everything was in place, let it drip.

He leaned down and reached under the covers to grab the unpleasantly warm ice packs, and throw them in the freezer, wondering if he should clean up, just a little bit.Would V get mad at him for snooping around? Or should he ask Misty? Just a little bit, he told himself as he gathered the pills spilled on the counter, inspecting the label while he was at it.Strong shit, impossible to get by simply waltzing into a pharmacy.

He put it back into the medicine cabinet and returned to the kitchen to deal with the noodles, and since they were on the verge of no longer being edible, he just tossed them into the trash can, along with other unfinished takeout he found in various places around the apartment.

She appeared to be sleeping, although far from soundly. No longer completely unconscious, she kept tossing and turning, her face grimacing as her recovering brain no doubt served her a concoction of fever dreams.Just as Viktor leaned down to relax a little, he heard a ping of an incoming text message. He pulled it up.He fully expected Misty to call him, alarmed, but apparently, he managed to reassure her just enough.

When he woke, a groan escaped his lips as the stiffness of his neck hit him with full force.Viktor stood up and stretched until he heard his joints crack. She opened her eyes and scanned the room, looking right over him, and furrowed her eyebrows. Finally, she looked up and saw Vik standing next to the bed and her expression went from blank to confused.

I was feeling like absolute shit after that last job, thought I could just sleep it off.Invisible until it starts to fry your brain. You gave me quite a fright.I knew something was off about that netrunner, after she You can spare me the lecture’ she chuckled.Thank you.Four minutes left.Next time you see me, consider getting that new set of optics and a gun grip.

Might save your ass next time someone attempts to do you dirty like his.It took a little while, but I beat Sir Alonne.I ended up doing it with phantoms, which for a while wasn’t working cos their presence would make me overconfident.

Once I got it through my skull to summon them, but still treat him like he was very dangerous, the fight wasn’t actually that bad at all. They took just enough pressure off for me to get my breath when I needed to, and the samurai went down.

The Aava fight wasn’t bad, once I found the thing that makes her visible. The first time I went that way, I was a little But once I could see her, all it took was getting out of my head a little, two handing my weapon, and dodging into attacks.

Easy peasy.I did track down all the Loyce Knights which I dunno, maybe it’s the low blood sugar today, but that felt excruciatingly tedious.I’d get almost all the way from the bonfire to one, and then get swarmed by an invader or something and have to do it again and again, and again.Or I’d get lost.Or I’d fall off a building. It was just getting irritating, but I managed it.And now I’m facing the Burnt Ivory King.

Sort of.But I’ll get ’em.Once I manage that, it’s Frigid Outskirts time. This is another location I’ve heard horror stories about, but I still have to at least check it out, otherwise what’s the point, right? Dark Souls 2 video games.Danzo was born in Kyoto in a family of shifters.Hayashi most notably was the father figure of Danzo and his older brother Sen.

Their biological father left when Danzo was only 4 years old and nobody spoke of him since —— as if he never existed. That was to be expected for those who betrayed the family. His mother would not speak of it, anyway, no matter how often Danzo inquired.Over the years, his anger became a mere ache, one he could never shake but background noise, nonetheless. It became obvious that she was a mere puppet in the game.Yet he had not forgiven her silence.

He had only learned to live with it.These were not the words of his mother, not even the words of Hayashi. No, his brother of all people was the one to share this wisdom with him.Danzo did not grasp the meaning of the words until much later.Their relationship was an odd one.Danzo and Sen were opposites it seemed. He read often and painted, both with near-supernatural talent.

Danzo was wilder and more boyish, always outside knee-deep in dirt.Hayashi had to punish him more often for sneaking away, for observing the workers at the factories after daytime or for simply being too rude. But they were inseparable for the bond they shared.Sen trusted him —— I thought. If his word was to be believed, Danzo was the only one who knew just how cunning his brother could be.

He still remembered the day when he saw Sen stood against the window like he was expecting him, and he looked even more confident, even more vain than Hayashi himself.Danzo never quite understood why he felt he had to pretend in front of the others, but he enjoyed being close to his brother, feeling like he was special and, of course, he enjoyed the gossip of the house and the secret hideouts and all the trouble they got up to.

Most of all, Danzo felt safe, because Sen needed him.If Hayashi found out that he had been lied to for so long, that would be the end of him, there was no doubt about it.No, surely, he could not lose Danzo as a brother and an ally. The way this family worked, this bond was exploited one time or another for rather mundane things — to get away with a girl, to lie about work, to do all the things boys did when they were young.

But Sen was a trickster. He chose the racoon dog as his animal and that perhaps was the perfect depiction of his true nature — a trickster at heart.Hayashi was a businessman more than anything. He owned two big factories in Kyoto where he employed hundreds of workers to work textiles into luxurious shirts and suits.

Business started to boom again in Japan in general so there was no lack of demand for business attire and hip gadgets. The workers often were provided rooms and meals on site to allow them work for longer and cut their wages.

Their families were allowed for free too which made many of them want to come voluntarily. We say workers now because the rules have gotten stricter over the years.Hayashi always thought the hypocrisy amusing.

They changed the language but all it did was to make conditions worse. Now, many hundreds of people were tricked into slavery because that was really all it was.Hayashi made sure they could not escape because there was nowhere else for them to go.

He got their work for the price of dinner leftovers and they got their families too, because where were they going to go? Hayashi thought himself above them and so did everybody else in the house. They were a higher class, of nobler blood even than the common people for what they were.

A human much less a human worker stood no chance against a shifter. The best thing? It made him look good in public.People thought he was doing them all a favour by employing them and giving them shelter. That said, his main business came from the drug plantation he operated.Methamphetamine was the drug of the time and especially with the local yakuza on their side, Hayashi had no trouble distributing the white crystals to the paying man.

People needed suits for sure, but they were fucking desperate for meth. And contrary to public perception, there was no such thing as dirty money. The dream started to crumble when Danzo turned 20 years old.

He learned to watch his brother every so often. He used to joke he had some sort of sixth sense, that he would get this feeling whenever Sen was up to no good.

This time, the older Takahashi had taken things to the extreme, taking one of the slaves to bed in the factory.Danzo knew he occasionally lusted after the girls.Sen had gotten away with it a few times, fucking the whores in their rooms. This time, however, it was different. He had chosen to fuck her in the main hall of the fabric.

He understood the need for privacy, but Sen very much must have known about the guards.Sen usually disposed of the girls after and Danzo hoped this would be no different, though it never came to this.He had never seen him like this before. But this only would bring them both down. The workers were docile people. They never complained, they knew better than that, and they certainly would not rebel in such abrupt fashion. So, he had to make them.Danzo and Sen that night killed every man guarding the plantation and piled their bodies into the fabric.

The workers not understanding what happened very much knew what fate would await them if they stayed. So, most of them left before Hayashi found out, some of them were tortured until they gave out. This was a close shot.Sen would joke that he made him a man later on.It was the first time he had blood on his hands. His demeanour had changed since, he had gone quieter, more distant but they got away, nonetheless.

There was no reason to suspect any of the brothers.Besides, Hayashi managed to make a profit out of the whole ordeal by launching an investigation and graciously accepting the reimbursements of the government.

It was a days later that life fell apart completely.Anyone will betray you.So, he did.Long story short, Sen told Hayashi the truth.Of course, he did not do it openly but something, one day, led Hayashi to believe that Danzo was to be suspected to have triggered the bloodshed.

That only made it worse.Yet it was when quiet, docile and obedient Sen spoke up to tell the others what he saw.Sen rarely spoke unless he was spoken to and this only made it more believable. But it was the sword he cut the first man with that was matched against the wound they located and that served as proof enough. It was the truth — that was the biggest tragedy of it all.Danzo felt like his breath was taken away and his flesh was pierced by a thousand swords all at once.

What was he going to do? Danzo was sure Hayashi would have him killed for this. And it was fucking Sen who spoke up once more, begging to leave his life.To say he was confused was a massive understatement. But he had to take it.Hayashi let him go but not without atoning for his crime. The abilities the Takahashis had and the animals they chose to shift into were considered near-sacred.

It took a special type of bond to the animal. The family generally stayed away from the animals they had no connection with, out of respect. Thus, his punishment felt like another stab in the back, though he did as he was told. And when he shifted into his crane, he felt the blade against his feathers, then his skin.

Hayashi nearly skinned him alive and cut through his wing — one cut for every man that fell that night.Everyone betrays everyone. They covered his skin lengthwise. He would never fly again. There was too much grief and anger still to move on and build a life of his own.Besides, there would be no place safe for him.

Sen made sure of that.If there was one thing he had learned about his brother, it was that what you thought would be his end game, never was his end game. There was always another move to make, another trick up his sleeve. And thus, it was the Institute of all places he chose to go to — A place where men abused their slaves without consequences. He had heard stories about this island.

Hayashi looked down upon it.A man that could not bend the savages to his will deserved no slaves of his own, he would say, or something along these lines. The memories had become blurred over the years. But he knew it was the only place they would not suspect him to be.Versus will be released on Blu-ray on December 8 via Arrow Video. The two-disc set includes the original cut of the Japanese zombie action film and Ultimate Versus, the extended cut that debuted in Versus has been newly restored in 2K from original film elements, approved by Kitamura, with original lossless Japanese 5.

Odd scenario – after calling the S Class heroes scaredy cats, all of them beside king and blast now want you dead.To survive, you need to kill them in retaliation, what is your survival plan? I am more or less myself with little to no modifications or special abilities and only moderate physical fitness.Just to be clear, I just want to survive here.Your prompt specifically states that everyone Except King and Blast want me dead.

To date no hero aside from Saitama has really been able to see through King and that would be my advantage.Buddying up to King directly also gives me unique access to Saitama. My next targets would be Fubuki and Bang.Bang may not be hard to win over after getting King and Saitama on my side. Two S-class down 13 more to go.At this point, I would attempt to leverage Bang to get Atomic Samurai to stand down.Maybe TTM deciding to not want to kill me anymore might convince Superalloy to back down as well.

Zombieman can be a bit obsessive about an idea so he could be hard to convince but if I got either him or CE to back down I might be able to get them both.

CE might be able to convince Pig God to back down as well. This is a really really risky plan.A mostly secret, mostly secure location to stay, and an ungodly amount of information on the hero association and the heroes.

Information which I could use to protect myself, neutralize threats, and find other heroes weak points. All the S-Class heroes have incredibly egos which often become more of a weakness than a strength. As the Monster association showed us, even the most powerful heroes can find their match with the right match-up.My whole goal for survival in this scenario would be to keep my opponents off-base and on the defensive, exploiting weaknesses at every turn until victory is assured.

A solid albeit reprehensible opening move would be to kill King. That could buy you time because the HA and heroes would not understand what person of in-human abilities could possibly kill the strongest man.It also shows them you mean business. But keep in mind there are at least 5 others ranked above King and so it would not be long before they gathered their strength to take you out.

Zombieman – His obsession with the House of Evolution, You could send him on a multi-year wild goose chase.TTM – inferiority complex, his Tanktop team, comparatively slow moving, predictable fighting style.

Five hundred years ago the Ark the source of the Gedoushuu was sealed by a ShinkenRed.And while the seal began to break in , its power was so great that it would take another twenty two years for any Gedoshuu in the surface world to last more than ten minutes. Most of the time, they immediately dried up and died.By , only one family was appropriately prepared for the inevitable crisis. Thus, Korenosuke has to take it upon himself to train the new generation of samurai and ensure the future 19th Head – his grandson Aruto – would be worthy as a lord.

As the story progresses, they switch from the ShodoPhone to electronic mojikara to increase their efficiency in battle. But towards the end, they go back to the ShodoPhone as a representation of how bushido is still integral to the society they live in, and that ignoring the past will only be detrimental to the future.

They still agree after the final battle that the Hidens should find a way to write the sealing character with electronic mojikara though.

Which Terezi can describe as a nexus of metaphysical realities because she’s dreamed about similar places.Either we’re purposefully barred from interacting with Friendsim friends because this is Pesterquest we’re playing, or we can’t reach her because she’s dead. All there is to see now is if the Scourge Sisters will succeed where so many failed Wouldn’t he make sure to have a renewable source of them, if the alternative is killing his friends? God I hope they do go back to their hive and look through everything Maybe he’s chill.

And then Karkat speaks for MC’s sheer friendship power, which then kicks along the whole friendship thing. This is certainly a thing.I mean say what you want about Equius but the guy’s got his priorities straight. And of course as well, the T-pose guy from the funky troll hell nexus hallway of metaphysical realities won’t let us skip ahead to her.

On the other hand, by now whenever any character shows hints of getting their minds fucked with by the narrative I immediately reenact that meme with the samurai holding a cat and a sword and other synonymous memes.Um, thank fuck we didn’t get Paradox Space comics involved too, i guess? Admittedly, the first time was kinda understandable. Was he found by a random jade when his meteor landed??

But first, worth saying: These aren’t really in any specific order, it’s just the games I’ve personally had the most fun with overall, but it’s pretty hard to decide what the hard numbers on things you enjoy for different reasons are if that makes any sense. The ‘s weren’t exactly the best time for anyone, I think. For me they were a slog of finding myself and learning things I wish I didn’t.

Amid all those things I wanted some levity. The world needs something and stupid. We got a lot of it ion but I feel like we could have used it scattered around a bit more.In that spirit, allow me to show you one hell of a pick me up:.Saints Row 4 does not give a fuck.It is aggressively demonstrating that the entire time you play.It doesn’t care in the slightest what you think or why, It just wants to show you cool, if juvenile, and interesting, if weird shit. It’s the finer points of Ratchet and Clank’s arsenal, SR3’s humor, And superpowers that genuinely put Prototype and Infamous in a blender and tell you to go ape shit with them.

The soundtrack isn’t top shelf, it’s the roof of the building the shelf is in.Saints Row Two had a better story overall but SR Four’s was just plain fun and a solid enough story to still be invested.

The DLC was just as irreverent and madcap, Featuring everything from an evil Santa Clause to evil Gimps on Game of thrones chairs made of dildos Or Tropey-ass costumes and weapon reskins that I’d be genuinely surprised the game dev didn’t get sued over.

It has earned its place in my top 10 and I will die by that decision. But neither of these games is on this list, much as I liked them.

Partly because the whole time, I kept thinking of one simple question: “Why do I keep thinking of? Anarchy Reigns is my favorite Platinum game.

Full Stop. The Story mode is interesting and has genuinely good character moments, the characters themselves are completely mental, ranging from a mercenary with a bionic cat leg that secretly has a gun built into it to a giant cyborg bull-man with a jet-powered hammer. The soundtrack is mostly angry hip-hop, making every song a banger and fittingly speedy for things like random bombing runs from jet fighters that come from absolutely nowhere.

There are giant monsters, cars with mounted flame throwers, giant robots, and the online is still pretty sweet because even when abandoned, loading it up with bots still rules.

I regularly have more fun with this than I ever did with Overwatch, and I don’t care how insane that sounds. Some games want to make you feel something and fail.

Some games make you feel some things accidentally, for example, a desperate need to laugh. This game made me feel like a human blender.Like a Chthonic god of mangled flesh and raw destructive power.Nyarlathotep ain’t got nothing on me.

I speak, of course, of There’s no end to the absolute destruction you feel like you’re causing in this game.It feels more fluid than the first, the main character is a pinch more relatable, and all the body horror, superpowers, zombie hordes, and big old monsters make for some of the most memorable and fun moments and fights in gaming. The DLC is also pretty solid, adding new fun side challenges, and new powers and weapons that elevate you from “Flesh god” to “Screw physics, I made them” Omnipotent.

Sometimes some games are at an honest tie in your mind.Be it that you like them for essentially the same reasons, or for completely different reasons, but the overall total joy or entertainment they bring is roughly equivalent.

Here, we have a case of the former:.Both games have a tight focus on giving players a unique, boss-centric challenge, both have interesting, somewhat minimal narratives, and both are absolute eye candy.Furi has a more “Samurai Jack” Quality to me.A complete badass on a relatively simple quest with a somewhat minimalistic art style learning some things as he goes.

Cuphead on the other hand, nails that rubber hose animation style, and the fun levity of such animations while still making the player’s ability to interact with the world damn impactful and fun. They share a spot in my soul, games I love everything about but will never be able to finish.

Hats off to both dev teams. Now here we have another tie.Mostly because the games are so close together, they need to be evaluated more or less as one product IMO, not enough changed for me to consider them separate games, fortunately, that is the furthest thing from an insult it can be in this situation.

I present to you, my next pick s.Now, This might seem pretty random considering my other picks, but honestly, I love Halloween, I love creative madness, I love subversion, I love good characters, and I love cool action, these games have all these things by the bucketload. The first game is a wild ride through Halloween in multiple very lively locations and the second, slightly confusing as it is, is pretty awesome for the things it introduces, including time travel.Other elements, like the battle stamps, the truly epic forms of everything in the fights, The ability to customize your costumes, etc.

Now, if you hadn’t noticed, all of the games on this list have had some hard action at their core, and while I don’t HATE calmer games, a lot of the time, so many are kinda dull to me in that with the exception of easter eggs of some sort, most farming sims, for example, just have you doing normal farm stuff with very few twists, may as well start a real farm in that case.My most chill entry is a game that tosses that to one side, asks you to grab a suck cannon, and start harvesting gelatinous monster poop.

While you don’t spend a lot of time actually interacting with other characters, they just talk at you, the story of the game is pretty effective, the player character of Beatrix has left Earth for a simpler life of Slime Ranching, which entails the raising of alien crops, delightfully derpy and colorful chickens, and going all around in an attempt to farm new breeds of slime for their genetic material to sell off or trade-in for the creation of gadgets while being surrounded by a cast of interesting characters.

It’s all very wholesome family fun.The game looks great, has great ideas, and is genuinely the best farming game I have ever played. The 80’s are almost fetishized nowadays.Given all the property reboots, games that go for the vibe and aesthetic of the time, etc.

It almost seems as though the eighties vibe train ain’t gonna stop rolling any time soon. But we owe it to ourselves to remember the first big swipe of madcap neon-colored actiony B-movie bullshit and how mind-meltingly epic it was.Ladies, Gents, and whatever else, I present:.Blood Dragon’s story is relatively simple, you play Sargent Rex “Power” Colt A name said in full so many times I thought his last name was “Powercolt” for the longest time , a former “Omega force” cyborg.

Rex and his friend “Spider” were sent into a secret island base to investigate the supposed defection and treachery of their old commander, Ike Sloan. It turns out he has gone rogue and taken an army of “Mark 5” Omegaforce cyber-soldiers with him. What follows is a long story of betrayal, science fiction of the highest nonsensical level, comedy, and brilliantly cathartic action.

The collectibles range from data on animals, to research notes from a scientist, to literal VHS cassette tapes that have full descriptions of movies that I would legitimately watch if I could.

A lot of superhero games NEED to railroad you.Your goals MUST be to save the lives of the people and help the weak and all that. But one dev asked the simple question: “What if it didn’t? What if the player could be as evil or as good as they damn well pleased? It’s sequel asked you the same, but against more InFamous 2 is a game about making choices, just like the first one, also just like the first one, it can have an effect on gameplay.

That effect went from “What does this particular power do in this allignment? This was, and still is, the best game in the whole series, The powers felt distinct from anything else and still do, the story is solid as a rock, and the enemy types were still varied enough to be interesting, I miss the Reapers from the first game, but that’s about it.Everything else was a massive step up.If you have something that can run it, play it.Action is something I think we can all appreciate on some level.

We can understand when it does or does not work, we can understand when we do or do not like how it feels when we are the ones partaking in it.EX: Any schlep can tell you when the weapons in your game lack impact, or when your character moves too slow for the game to be fun.

The following game is something I can’t say anything of the sort about. And it’s kind of like Wolfenstein, when you have enemies this bad, who the hell cares how many you kill?

Y’all are lying if you say you didn’t expect this one. It’s DOOM This game is made of hate and fuck. You move so fast, you may as well be half cheetah and half sports car.You slaughter the dregs of hell by the dozens and even the biggest, baddest things this game throws at you can be beaten with the starting pistol if you have the stones for it.

It looks amazing graphically, the demons all look appropriately threatening, and even the Multiplayer is a great deal of fun in my book.Something worth noting: The story presented by default is pretty barebones, but that’s where supplementary material fills in the gaps, the difference between supplementary material in most games and supplementary material here is the material is till IN THE GAME.

You’re free to ignore most of the plot as it happens around you, and even interesting tidbits of the lore like how certain demons function. Not only are these things missable collectibles, prompting continued play to find them, they are also pretty interesting reads. And here we are, the last game I’d put in this category.

An entire decade, and here, we end on the last game that left such an impact I’d put it in my top ten.But first, let’s talk about expectations and delivery: When you say a game is coming out, there are certain expectations you have for gameplay, EX: I say “Ratchet and Clank” and you expect a TPS with platforming elements and crazy guns.I say “Gears of War” and people expect something to do with lumbering about in big armor, dismembering things with a chainsaw gun and otherwise shooting them to paste.

We might also expect changes to things, better graphics, innovations in grenade variety, something as that franchise goes on.After the last game in this series was released, there were tons of people who felt let down and disappointed by it.Then they released the still somewhat disappointing special edition of it.

They were both still fun, but neither really felt like the full next step in the series. After a failed reboot, they returned to the original story and the lot of us rejoiced. And when it finally came out? It was a step up in most, if not, all regards, to its predecessors. You know what this last one is.

Please, give a warm round of applause to:.A game that was not only a return to form, but a major escalation in gameplay for one character, and a new style of gameplay all together by way of yet another new character. It built very well on already solid foundations and it was generally just a fun, slightly goofy, massively stylish, and ultra badass ride.

I recommend this, and all these games, to anyone.Good night everyone, have a great And the rest of the decade, for that matter.Title: Six Hours in Hell Word count: Trigger warnings: suicide ideation, suicidal thoughts, death, gore, blood, alcoholism. This drabble concludes my event, Darkness Falls, and switches this blog from being set during Season 5 to being set in my Bad End verse — a timeline where Aku wins.

Zintaris, for letting Aku know about the sword situation; Nightmare for giving Aku the insight to finally try again at destroying Jack; and Morty for making Aku hate himself so much he had to channel it outwards or risk self-destructing.Way down at the bottom of the Pit of Hate, Aku paced restlessly in his bedchambers, one arm behind his back, the other raised to his chin so as to wind his coarse black talons thoughtlessly through his beard.

It was hard to say what details got through to him when he was like this — drowning in self-reflection and not really seeing much outside of himself at all.Thoughts rolled off one another like waves on beachrocks. At least Even now, the stark memory of light glinting off that ancient, accursed weapon made his essence recoil. He could practically still hear that vicious hiss it had made when Jack had unsheathed it and pointed its tip at his nose, so close that even one step forward would plunge it through his face.

From 2 googolplex to name your price. He hated feeling like he was at the mercy of the universe.A bitterly savage snarl rose from his chest at this thought, sounding very much like a wildcat.

Since when did he care so much about the Judgment of bastard gods? Being God, he should be able to live by his own damned rules Why is it that even now, his Fate not his own? Who were They to call the shots? How dare they dictate what he could and could not destroy! What he could and could not consume! Was it not a cosmic principle that Good could not exist without Evil?

That law could not exist without Chaos? The Greatest Evil this universe had ever known. The one meant to devour all.The black at the end of time, to which all life must surrender But first And he had to plan well First and foremost, he must eliminate all roadblocks of his own mental creation—starting with that accursed samurai.

Once Jack was out of the way, then he would turn to the Resistance, make examples of every last one of them that had so foolishly stood against him all this long time.Crucify them, hang them from the trees in the Forest of Aku.Stake their matted carcasses on poles, let the crows pick at them, let all his visitors pass through their mangled corpses and be watched by their hollow sightless eyes as they decomposed.Let such horror be a lesson to all who would stand against him!

And finally, once these physical obstacles were out of the way, then it would be time to work on problems within himself.Find the motivation and courage to be socially-active again.

Perhaps go out and make some friends, at last? Once Jack was out of the picture, there would be no one left to stand in his way, and he could finally get on with his life.At least, until the Gods chose a new champion.

And by then, you can bet Aku would be ready and waiting for them, talons and tusks bared to rip them to shreds. So he was going to do this But he couldn’t just charge into this blindly like last time.He had to plan every move, every foreseeable outcome and variable. He could no longer afford to leave this up to chance. And so, Aku unlocked his phone and opened his contacts app.The forest in which Jack was camped was eerily silent, and very very cold.

Overhead, not a cloud stirred in the savage nighttime sky.The world is so dark that even the stars and fingernail moon seemed insignificant and weak as candleflame.Chilly cold wind whistled through the trees, making dead, barren branches rattle together like bones. All around Jack, the landscape is black and foreboding.Black as sin, black as coal, black as creeping death.

He brought a hand up to trace the vicious scar which criss-crossed his face, feeling the raised flesh on his forehead, nose, and cheek with battle-hardened, numbed fingers.

His blind eye throbbed in its socket, with the memory of those vicious black talons that had swept across his face so many years ago.Jack gave a shuddering sigh, letting his hand fall from his face and back into his lap.All those innocents, their lives winking out in the night.

Burning bright like sparks.Crying out for help that would never come — crying out that Jack would save them That they believed in him.

That he was only a few minutes away, and oh how sorry Aku would be for this destruction he had wrought. So sorry. So sorry Broken families crouched in the burning soil of their homes, soot running through their fingers, the hot and oily smell of bodies burning in the night.A banquet of young souls upon which the demon could feast Their relationship was one without words, one without camaraderie, or closeness, or even loyalty. It was a bond as old as time — not of love, nor of lust or blood or brotherhood, but of something much older than that.

Man, tsukine’s another hard one haha.Tsukine’s meant to be a pair with Nitsune though, and they’re meant to work well both alone and together.

Even their outfits are to contrast each other.I based her concept around the idea of freezing herself in the ice to recuperate, forcing you to use other team members. This is a continuation of The Ghost and the Witch which you can read here , a small Ghost of Tsushima fic that I wrote to Deal With Things, but that needed extra fluff.

So have that, I guess. There is also technically? Jin startles at the voice that seems to come out of the air itself. The grounds are vast and meticulously kept, but this area feels different, a low corner near the outer wall, mostly obscured by a large cherry tree.

The small plot of land is utterly covered in white and pink petals, but it looks like someone is also growing a kitchen garden here. The voice calls out again and this time he spots its owner: a young girl up in the tree.

She looks about his age, with two braids coming down her shoulders and dressed in a hakama of some quality. She looks out of place, in as much as anyone looks wrong stuck in a tree.

Then she starts clambering down. The girl ignores his panic and hops down in three calculated movements. The girl does another one of her half-smiles and then finally treats him to a proper bow.My father is the head of the guard. He says nothing, and that is answer enough. The leather is wet, the bands caked in something slick that combines with the shaking of your fingers and makes them difficult to dislodge. You open a box by the fire and rifle through it, fingers scurrying over boxes and pouches and pots until you find the clearing salts, which you dump in the bowl.

When you turn back, Jin has taken off his pauldrons and untied his armor. He does not argue. He sits quietly while you wipe away the blood and assess his wounds. The gash on his arm is shallow if jagged. The edges of it are laced with a grey, ashy dust that smells of poison and rot.You clean it off as best as you can.He hums, a low sound that is more of a tremor than a response. You glance up to see his eyes are not looking at you, but through you, glass beads staring into nothingness.

You put a palm to his forehead. Then you move his hand there. He nods absently and you set to work, moving as quickly as you can, trying to ignore the dangerous sway in his form, a mighty tree falling in slow motion.

By the time you have bandaged his abdomen and his arm, he has mostly collapsed, barely staying on his knees, his head leaning against your shoulder to remain upright. His eyelids have fallen shut, although you can see his eyes twitch underneath.Perspiration beads on his forehead. With effort, you lay him down on the mat and cover him in blankets.

His breath is ragged, shallow. You clear away your previous work and prepare a fresh bowl of water and a cloth, which you set by his side.Outside, the wind howls an angry, desperate roar. You stoke the fire and brew a pot of tea.

It will be a long night.Jin closes his eyes and breathes in the smell of early autumn. The salt in the air mixes with the earthy scent of leaves and wood fires. He stalks the grounds like a cat, reacquainting himself with its many nooks and crannies, taking stock of the small changes in plants and people. The sound of running feet wakes him from his investigation and he turns, smiling to see you racing towards him.You abruptly stop just short of him, then take a breath and bow.

You look up with a sparkle in your eye.Come see? You turn around and dash off again, your figure a fluttering, billowing sheet tugged off the clothesline by a strong gale, free to whirl and spiral down the path.Jin shakes his head briefly and follows, measuring his pace while he watches you dance up the steps, until you stop and wait for him.

You nod thoughtfully and slow down to match his step.He thinks on it a while, and then something resembling a smirk forms on his lips. That some of them are out for my titles and money.Jin chuckles and sets off running toward the cherry tree, now chased by a girl calling him mean. When he reaches your small garden, the sight stops him in his tracks.

The bushes, once a dull green, have sprouted dozens of small, perfectly formed pink and red flowers. They dot the garden like jewels glistening in the sun.

She was so pretty. He shakes his head and chooses a perfect red bloom, carefully picking it off the branch. He hands it to you but you just hold it in your palm, staring at it, and then at him.You gently touch the bloom, a soft smile on your face as you look around the garden, resplendent in sunlight. His skin burns and his veins are filled with lead. When he next wakes up, it is to the sound of wind rustling outside.

He opens his eyes slowly, and tries to focus on the rafters high above him, laden with drying herbs. The smell of burnt wood hangs in the air and he becomes aware of a dying fire glowing to his side.

He turns his head, and the movement feels like hammers pounding on an anvil. On the ground next to him is a bowl, a pile of bloodied bandages and, a little further on, you, curled up against a stool.Your hair is tousled, your skirts gathered around you and your face buried in your arms in a way that looks uncomfortable. In the midst of it all your sleeping form stands out as an island of light, a sprinkle of silver dust in a sea of shadows.

Jin closes his eyes again and lays back. The sack of boulders that sat on his chest has lifted. The voice only barely sounds like you.A sound that he remembers being clear and melodious as birdsong is now nothing more than a scraping whisper, a tarnished bell filled with ash and sand.

When he hears no response or protest, he takes his scabbard and slowly lays it before him, kneeling on the ground next to you.

The two of you sit there, surrounded by the overly sweet, sickly smell of faded flowers.Protecting you.You say nothing, but he can hear you breathe.A series of choppy inhales, followed by long drawn out sighs. How difficult it is to face that loss.

Jin nods and folds his hands into his lap.He closes his eyes and focuses on the quiet, on the shadows of the trees looming before him like stone monuments, on the cold sea wind carrying crystals of salt and ice to fill the sky above you.

The horse nuzzles his shoulder, whinnying softly.Raindrops drizzle through the trees, cascading on an elaborate journey from branch to branch, only to fall to the moss beneath his feet with a dull, muffled plop.Moisture fills the air in this small clearing, droplets so thick he can taste them on his tongue.

It deepens the shadows and further obscures this place, the house already veiled by layers of green and black like a widow mourning the passing of the summer sun.Jin carefully unties the bridle and takes it off.The horse immediately shakes out its head.

He watches as Kage wanders over to a basket of straw he put down and starts munching. Then he takes a deep breath and bends over to pick up the saddle, grimacing at the feeling of being sliced open once more.

He straightens and blows out a breath.Kage eyes him from a distance. He sniffs. With that, you get up and take the saddle and bridle from him.He fails. With a nod, you return to your cooking. You throw some chopped burdock root in the pot, and millet to thicken it.The feeling of being watched makes you look up.You laugh. He watches in silence for a while, matching the pictures from his teenage dreams to the vision in front of him.The girl, the woman, the fire and the smell of game.

The knicks on your hand and the frayed edges on your garment. You smile and shake your head. You nod.The two of you eat in silence for a while, nothing but the sound of crackling fire and the occasional huff outside, from Kage plodding around in the clearing in front of the house. This stew would have to be pretty bad for you not to enjoy it.The salted air stings your face as you survey the world from the guard tower.

You can see halfway across the island from here.Your eyes follow the coastline north to the snowy covered flanks of the mountains, and south all the way to the swamps, with Kaneda Castle rising above them.

Below your feet, waterfalls pour down into the sea, an endless gurgling that was always so familiar to you, but now feels distant and annoying.Broad shouldered and scruffy. The cart is ready. The man watches you for a moment, while you take in the views one last time.

He fidgets when your eyes come to rest on the main tower of the castle, its highest floors home to the lord and his nephew. The tower feels oddly imposing in the light of early morning, its height looming over the grounds and the people below, a stone monument against a lead sky.Just still halls and the shuffling of servant feet as they try to remain invisible and unheard, mice in their own home.

The muffled tones of a flute come floating out of your house when you return from the forest with a belt of wood and some mushrooms you found. The melody is soft and a little nostalgic, a sound both melodious and weary at the same time.Jin concentrates on his breathing, a steady, stable pace to produce the right notes, but then you drift into the house like a fluttering bird, carrying the winter wind on its wings.

He can smell the promise of snow on the air as you flit by in a whirl of fabric and drop a few logs next to the fire. The wound in his side stabs in protest, but it no longer makes him flinch. You hang up your coat and kneel beside him, taking the cup in both hands and breathing in the fragrant steam.Your eyes flutter closed and Jin watches as your face, flushed from the cold, relaxes into a smile. Then he leaves his hand there, a gentle weight at your back.He can feel you tense for a moment, before you relax again and take a sip.

He should be alright for tonight.Jin quietly sips his tea, the warmth of it welcoming but edged with a hint of bitterness from the burnt leaves. He moves his hand further to your side and finds that you lean into his warmth. But you already knew that. That same spark he saw so long ago, buried but ever burning beneath it all.He gently kisses your forehead. You hesitate for a moment, eyes searching the lines in his face, the scars on his brow.

Then you put down the cup and let your fingers smooth back his hair, trace the line of his jaw.Flames lick at the logs in the hearth, a slow, burning heat that consumes everything in its path.It spreads an orange glow that lights up the inside of the hut, growing shadows from teacups and lining the two bodies moving there in a copper gleam. It sparks and sizzles, breathing warmth and life into the darkness.

You know what? I decided the best way to do this is to just post the fic I started.Or maybe he should be called a man? He seemed to be on the edge between the two.Either way he was older than Len.The servant in red narrowed his eyes harshly. He had a light scar over his face and all the marks of a seasoned warrior.

Len grunted in frustration. He toyed with the idea of using a command seal right then and there.I share his blood.Hands finding their way into his hair, Len let out another frustrated groan.Would you care to enlighten me? No wonder you failed. But how could he do that when Saber never told him? At this rate Haruki was going to win the Grail while he was stuck arguing with his stupid servant!

He could use a command seal, but he only had three and he got the feeling that his servant would refuse to appear without him using them until he fulfilled the silly request.

Len took a calming breath and listed what identifying traits he knew in descending order of helpfulness. There could only be so many golden swords in history and legends. That would surely narrow it down. With how much of it he wore, it was clearly a distinctive color that he may be symbolically tied to.Len was ready to bang his head on the wall at the task in front of him before he remembered a very telling quirk Saber had displayed.

The spikey haired ninja appeared before the sound was even done echoing around the library.Kai gave him a nod.The kid was much less snotty now and Kai felt less like hanging him on a street sign.Perhaps that was just a Garmadon trait though? Being an insufferable brat and then warming up on people. His eyes were that breathtaking emerald, but not the overly round shape Lloyds had been. The biggest difference was the smile though.Len had a bit of a proud tint to his.

It was a trait Lloyd rarely, if ever, used, but having been raised the way he was he could never shake that sardonic touch in even his most innocent smile. It seemed more amused and resigned than his previous sighs though, so Kai let it go.Jaden was bouncing on the balls of his feet gleefully holding his package.

It had taken a lot of money and work to get it, but he had it now.It was an important piece of the original Samurai X suit. With it, Jaden could summon the mysterious warrior to be his servant in the Grail War.Not to mention meet his hero.Jaden ripped open the package and found his prize.

A red gem set in some twisted gold metal. It was unrecognizable now, but Jaden was assured it had been an important piece of the first suit.Perhaps it was a decorative emblem? Or maybe it belonged on the hilt of a weapon?

Jaden could spend all day theorizing, but he was rather eager to summon the samurai.Jaden had no workshop, so he was preforming the ritual out in the woods behind his house.Nobody would dare start attacking before all the servants were summoned.Hands shaking, breath paused, Jaden waited for the smoke to clear. He was about to come face to face with the real Samurai X.The excitement was enough to make him faint, but also enough to make him refuse to, not waiting to miss the reveal.

He was about to explode when he saw a figure form in the haze.A girl, a pretty girl, but a girl stood in front of Jaden with expectant eyes. She wore the red gem Jaden had been assured belonged to the first Samurai X mech suit around her wrist in an elaborate bracelet.I will win the Grail for you.Taylor was tired and wanted to leave. Her dad talked to Caster, making plans for the upcoming war while she sat there like a third wheel.

She had to stay though, because Caster was technically her servant. Not that it really mattered, her dad called the shots, she just had the command seals.Still, her father always got what he wanted, and he wanted the Grail.Taylor had no choice but to do his bidding, as she always would. She still fantasied about using her command seals to make her servant off himself and drop out of the running right there.

Her dad would be so mad.Gerald looked at his command seals proudly. The last of the Anacondrai, Pythor. With such a deadly servant he was sure to win the Grail. The kids that skipped chose more interesting places to be, and the kids that got caught were taken back to the classrooms in the lower floors.About to call Assassin to kill whoever had snuck up on him in panic, Gerald stopped his mouth in time when he realized it was just Bradly, his dormmate.

He had really thought one of the other servants was about to kill him for a second there. He was going to need to find a better excuse if he wanted to keep being in the Holy Grail War a secret, but it was just Bradly for now.Gerald could just intimidate him into keeping his trap shut.Meanwhile, in noncorporeal form, Assassin cursed his luck.Cole was startled.

For many reasons. He looked too much like Zane.Zack was less centered than the ice ninja ever was though and was tearfully declaring his wish to be bringing the dead back.Cole cringed again. He used a scythe not a lance. But the Grail deemed it close enough and brought him back as a Lancer class to fight in the Holy Grail War.Saber never did answer him.Not that Len noticed. He got to the kitchen and was now had a new question.Len bit his lip and swallowed.

Mentally scolding himself for a moment, Len managed to keep his tears unshed before sitting down and putting food on his plate.

He sat down and started to load his own plate with food and eating.Len relaxed. As rude as his wake-up had been, it was nice to have a warm breakfast for once.

There were song birds outside and sunshine pouring through the window, setting a pleasant morning setting.Len both stabbed and chewed his next bite of food with a more strength than needed.

To make his anger about the topic known? To blow off some stress from it being brought up? Who could say? Saber had the decency to look away and it was quiet for a moment while the two finished eating.

Len broke it and sighed after he rinsed off his plate.

As if the hurricane had swept through the place, some of the furniture was tilted over, a pile of clothes, dangerously balanced on an overfilled laundry basket, threatened to collapse and spill over at any moment.A half-finished box of noodles laid abandoned on the counter, accompanied by a mosaic of pills from a knocked over bottle.Viktor found V curled up on the floor next to her bed, wearing a washed-out Samurai t-shirt and sweatpants, covers dragged along with her halfway between the linoleum and the mattress.

He could barely see her face from the way she was bundled up.Viktor started to have an idea of what he was dealing with here, has seen the wreckage that offensive hacking can cause many times before.Viktor opened his bag and pulled out a small, remote biomonitor. It took a few seconds to fully calibrate, but eventually, the screen lit up.While it was loading, Viktor propped it up on the wall and grabbed V to lay her on her back to make the job easier for himself, and pulled out a few small gel-filled Ice-Pax.

He knew she probably needed more, but those will have to do for now.Just as Viktor placed two under her arms and another on her groin, the monitor beeped. He let out a long sigh.Patients never did, but it still might be worth a shot.

RAM damages were problematic in their very nature but pretty easy to fix once caught, not much of his medical knowledge needed.Flipping the ice packs, he took a quick glance at her temperature and was glad to see that it had started to slowly go down, followed by her pulse and blood pressure, all three leaving the life-threatening territory.

None of them were quite to his liking just yet, but at least now Viktor was sure V would pull through.Minding the biomonitor still plugged into her, Viktor leaned down to lift V and put her on the bed.Taking the covers from the floor, he put them on her, straightening the wrinkled material intuitively.

Having done that, Viktor grabbed her arm and carefully inserted the needle.

Finally, she looked up and saw Vik standing next to the bed and her expression went from blank to confused.I was feeling like absolute shit after that last job, thought I could just sleep it off.

Invisible until it starts to fry your brain. You gave me quite a fright.I knew something was off about that netrunner, after she You can spare me the lecture’ she chuckled.

Thank you.Four minutes left.Next time you see me, consider getting that new set of optics and a gun grip.Might save your ass next time someone attempts to do you dirty like his.It took a little while, but I beat Sir Alonne.I ended up doing it with phantoms, which for a while wasn’t working cos their presence would make me overconfident.Once I got it through my skull to summon them, but still treat him like he was very dangerous, the fight wasn’t actually that bad at all.

Easy peasy.I did track down all the Loyce Knights which I dunno, maybe it’s the low blood sugar today, but that felt excruciatingly tedious.I’d get almost all the way from the bonfire to one, and then get swarmed by an invader or something and have to do it again and again, and again.Or I’d get lost.

Or I’d fall off a building. It was just getting irritating, but I managed it.And now I’m facing the Burnt Ivory King.Sort of.But I’ll get ’em.Once I manage that, it’s Frigid Outskirts time. This is another location I’ve heard horror stories about, but I still have to at least check it out, otherwise what’s the point, right? Dark Souls 2 video games.Danzo was born in Kyoto in a family of shifters.

Hayashi most notably was the father figure of Danzo and his older brother Sen.Their biological father left when Danzo was only 4 years old and nobody spoke of him since —— as if he never existed.

No, his brother of all people was the one to share this wisdom with him.Danzo did not grasp the meaning of the words until much later.

Their relationship was an odd one.Danzo and Sen were opposites it seemed. He read often and painted, both with near-supernatural talent.Danzo was wilder and more boyish, always outside knee-deep in dirt.Hayashi had to punish him more often for sneaking away, for observing the workers at the factories after daytime or for simply being too rude.

But they were inseparable for the bond they shared.Sen trusted him —— I thought. If his word was to be believed, Danzo was the only one who knew just how cunning his brother could be.He still remembered the day when he saw Sen stood against the window like he was expecting him, and he looked even more confident, even more vain than Hayashi himself.

Danzo never quite understood why he felt he had to pretend in front of the others, but he enjoyed being close to his brother, feeling like he was special and, of course, he enjoyed the gossip of the house and the secret hideouts and all the trouble they got up to.

He owned two big factories in Kyoto where he employed hundreds of workers to work textiles into luxurious shirts and suits.Business started to boom again in Japan in general so there was no lack of demand for business attire and hip gadgets.

The workers often were provided rooms and meals on site to allow them work for longer and cut their wages.Their families were allowed for free too which made many of them want to come voluntarily. We say workers now because the rules have gotten stricter over the years.Hayashi always thought the hypocrisy amusing. They changed the language but all it did was to make conditions worse.

Now, many hundreds of people were tricked into slavery because that was really all it was.Hayashi made sure they could not escape because there was nowhere else for them to go.He got their work for the price of dinner leftovers and they got their families too, because where were they going to go?

Hayashi thought himself above them and so did everybody else in the house. They were a higher class, of nobler blood even than the common people for what they were.A human much less a human worker stood no chance against a shifter.

The best thing? It made him look good in public.People thought he was doing them all a favour by employing them and giving them shelter. That said, his main business came from the drug plantation he operated.Methamphetamine was the drug of the time and especially with the local yakuza on their side, Hayashi had no trouble distributing the white crystals to the paying man.People needed suits for sure, but they were fucking desperate for meth. And contrary to public perception, there was no such thing as dirty money.

The dream started to crumble when Danzo turned 20 years old.He learned to watch his brother every so often.

He understood the need for privacy, but Sen very much must have known about the guards.Sen usually disposed of the girls after and Danzo hoped this would be no different, though it never came to this.

He had never seen him like this before. But this only would bring them both down. The workers were docile people. They never complained, they knew better than that, and they certainly would not rebel in such abrupt fashion. So, he had to make them.

Danzo and Sen that night killed every man guarding the plantation and piled their bodies into the fabric. The workers not understanding what happened very much knew what fate would await them if they stayed.

So, most of them left before Hayashi found out, some of them were tortured until they gave out. This was a close shot.Sen would joke that he made him a man later on.

It was the first time he had blood on his hands.

That only made it worse.Yet it was when quiet, docile and obedient Sen spoke up to tell the others what he saw.

Sen rarely spoke unless he was spoken to and this only made it more believable.

The abilities the Takahashis had and the animals they chose to shift into were considered near-sacred.It took a special type of bond to the animal. The family generally stayed away from the animals they had no connection with, out of respect.

Thus, his punishment felt like another stab in the back, though he did as he was told. And when he shifted into his crane, he felt the blade against his feathers, then his skin.Hayashi nearly skinned him alive and cut through his wing — one cut for every man that fell that night.Everyone betrays everyone. They covered his skin lengthwise.

He would never fly again. There was too much grief and anger still to move on and build a life of his own.Besides, there would be no place safe for him.Sen made sure of that.If there was one thing he had learned about his brother, it was that what you thought would be his end game, never was his end game.

I am more or less myself with little to no modifications or special abilities and only moderate physical fitness.Just to be clear, I just want to survive here.Your prompt specifically states that everyone Except King and Blast want me dead.To date no hero aside from Saitama has really been able to see through King and that would be my advantage.

Buddying up to King directly also gives me unique access to Saitama. My next targets would be Fubuki and Bang.Bang may not be hard to win over after getting King and Saitama on my side. Two S-class down 13 more to go.

At this point, I would attempt to leverage Bang to get Atomic Samurai to stand down.Maybe TTM deciding to not want to kill me anymore might convince Superalloy to back down as well.Zombieman can be a bit obsessive about an idea so he could be hard to convince but if I got either him or CE to back down I might be able to get them both.CE might be able to convince Pig God to back down as well.

This is a really really risky plan.A mostly secret, mostly secure location to stay, and an ungodly amount of information on the hero association and the heroes.Information which I could use to protect myself, neutralize threats, and find other heroes weak points. All the S-Class heroes have incredibly egos which often become more of a weakness than a strength. As the Monster association showed us, even the most powerful heroes can find their match with the right match-up.

My whole goal for survival in this scenario would be to keep my opponents off-base and on the defensive, exploiting weaknesses at every turn until victory is assured.A solid albeit reprehensible opening move would be to kill King. That could buy you time because the HA and heroes would not understand what person of in-human abilities could possibly kill the strongest man.

It also shows them you mean business. But keep in mind there are at least 5 others ranked above King and so it would not be long before they gathered their strength to take you out.Zombieman – His obsession with the House of Evolution, You could send him on a multi-year wild goose chase.TTM – inferiority complex, his Tanktop team, comparatively slow moving, predictable fighting style.

A relentless one-of-a-kind sensory assault chock full of hyper-kinetic fight scenes, gangster shootouts, sword-slashing violence and gory zombie horror, Versus was a key title amongst the barrage of innovative horror and action movies that appeared as if from nowhere from Japan at the turn of the millennium, leading to a new wave of appreciation for Asian extreme cinema.

Before then, Korenosuke has to deal with his personal failings as a grandfather and the challenges the new generation present to the traditions he kept for all his life.He moved out of the mansion when he entered high school but comes back in order to make good on his vow to improve his sword fighting and mojikara skills. Thus, he has to learn that when something challenges his beliefs or brings him down i.He also has to learn that as important as individuality is, sometimes it has to be sacrificed for the greater good.

Aruto starts to take his training seriously when a kuroko got injured in the first battle the team has against the Gedoushuu, and to not let his team down.He develops his mojikara to the point where he can use lightning and light – the latter being a feat only the ShinkenRed who sealed the Ark was capable of.Even so, Aruto places her as his second-in-command and she guides the team whenever Aruto is in a pinch.

Her expertise is in mojikara, for she writes quickly without sacrificing an elegant hand and proper brush stroke order. She starts by being vocal about the practicality of electronic mojikara, and branches out no pun intended into developing friendships for the sake of them rather than necessity i.

Fuwa ShinkenBlue is a security guard with a knack for unorthodox swordsmanship. His mojikara, on the other hand, is absolutely horrible for he messes up the stroke order in his rush to get things done quickly. In , he lost his entire clan to a Gedou and only survived because he was on a school trip at the time.He was taken into the Yaiba clan, but was seen as an outcast for his dedication to training and hunting any Gedou or Gedoushuu he could find before they dried up.

He only took on his now former job for the sake of financially supporting himself.Yua ShinkenYellow is a former secretary for ZAIA, a farming equipment empire her family had been building up for the past few hundred years. The company is hers by birthright, but as per Yaiba tradition, she started out as a mere employee to understand the business from inside out.

This endeavour was supported by her parents, and it proves vital in the making of Origami. This haunts her to no end but, due to her unusual ability to still use mojikara even as a Gedou, she decides the only way to redeem herself is to be a Shinkenger. He does all he can to get everyone to bond as a team like Aruto does – albeit with more success.Upon realizing how he has to sacrifice his former life for his current one, Jin starts to take his role more seriously – even getting frustrated at his lack of progress in proper swordsmanship.

Horobi ShinkenGold is a wandering archaeologist possessing intricate knowledge of the five clans and their traditions. He returned to the place of his origin when purple cracks formed over the scar on his backside. He has no idea if the broken seal will lead to his death or result in the loss of his immortality, but he has every intention to die one way or another.A relentless one-of-a-kind sensory assault chock-full of hyper-kinetic fight scenes, gangster shootouts, sword-slashing violence and gory zombie horror, Versus was a key title amongst the barrage of innovative horror and action movies that appeared as if from nowhere from Japan at the turn of the millennium, leading to a new wave of appreciation for Asian extreme cinema.

Reversible sleeve featuring original and newly commissioned artwork by Chris Malbon.Deep in the Woods, an archival featurette featuring interviews with Kitamura, cast and crew.Original lossless Japanese 6.Otoko versus Juku, a featurette on the newly shot material for Ultimate Versus. We know their names, where they live, and we’ve also accumulated a good bunch of mutual friends. Also i just really want to see them Considering that MC gets by perfectly fine in Friendsim them having crimson blood was the biggest danger , but Joey apparently has to disguise herself as a troll It should be said that we have very different frames of reference for those three versions; respectively we have Neophyte Redglare, the five Troll Call teals – which are focused on their own, very different things – and Terepy Pipes herself.

And of course as well, the T-pose guy from the funky troll hell nexus hallway of metaphysical realities won’t let us skip ahead to her.On the other hand, by now whenever any character shows hints of getting their minds fucked with by the narrative I immediately reenact that meme with the samurai holding a cat and a sword and other synonymous memes.

Um, thank fuck we didn’t get Paradox Space comics involved too, i guess? Admittedly, the first time was kinda understandable. Was he found by a random jade when his meteor landed?? But first, worth saying: These aren’t really in any specific order, it’s just the games I’ve personally had the most fun with overall, but it’s pretty hard to decide what the hard numbers on things you enjoy for different reasons are if that makes any sense.

The ‘s weren’t exactly the best time for anyone, I think. For me they were a slog of finding myself and learning things I wish I didn’t.Amid all those things I wanted some levity.

The world needs something and stupid. We got a lot of it ion but I feel like we could have used it scattered around a bit more.In that spirit, allow me to show you one hell of a pick me up:.

Saints Row 4 does not give a fuck.It is aggressively demonstrating that the entire time you play.It doesn’t care in the slightest what you think or why, It just wants to show you cool, if juvenile, and interesting, if weird shit.

But neither of these games is on this list, much as I liked them.Partly because the whole time, I kept thinking of one simple question: “Why do I keep thinking of? Anarchy Reigns is my favorite Platinum game.Full Stop.

There are giant monsters, cars with mounted flame throwers, giant robots, and the online is still pretty sweet because even when abandoned, loading it up with bots still rules.I regularly have more fun with this than I ever did with Overwatch, and I don’t care how insane that sounds.

Some games want to make you feel something and fail. Some games make you feel some things accidentally, for example, a desperate need to laugh. This game made me feel like a human blender.Like a Chthonic god of mangled flesh and raw destructive power.

Nyarlathotep ain’t got nothing on me.I speak, of course, of There’s no end to the absolute destruction you feel like you’re causing in this game.It feels more fluid than the first, the main character is a pinch more relatable, and all the body horror, superpowers, zombie hordes, and big old monsters make for some of the most memorable and fun moments and fights in gaming.

The DLC is also pretty solid, adding new fun side challenges, and new powers and weapons that elevate you from “Flesh god” to “Screw physics, I made them” Omnipotent.Sometimes some games are at an honest tie in your mind.Be it that you like them for essentially the same reasons, or for completely different reasons, but the overall total joy or entertainment they bring is roughly equivalent.

Here, we have a case of the former:.Both games have a tight focus on giving players a unique, boss-centric challenge, both have interesting, somewhat minimal narratives, and both are absolute eye candy.

Furi has a more “Samurai Jack” Quality to me.A complete badass on a relatively simple quest with a somewhat minimalistic art style learning some things as he goes.

Cuphead on the other hand, nails that rubber hose animation style, and the fun levity of such animations while still making the player’s ability to interact with the world damn impactful and fun. They share a spot in my soul, games I love everything about but will never be able to finish.Hats off to both dev teams. Now here we have another tie.

Mostly because the games are so close together, they need to be evaluated more or less as one product IMO, not enough changed for me to consider them separate games, fortunately, that is the furthest thing from an insult it can be in this situation.I present to you, my next pick s.

Now, This might seem pretty random considering my other picks, but honestly, I love Halloween, I love creative madness, I love subversion, I love good characters, and I love cool action, these games have all these things by the bucketload. The first game is a wild ride through Halloween in multiple very lively locations and the second, slightly confusing as it is, is pretty awesome for the things it introduces, including time travel.Other elements, like the battle stamps, the truly epic forms of everything in the fights, The ability to customize your costumes, etc.

Now, if you hadn’t noticed, all of the games on this list have had some hard action at their core, and while I don’t HATE calmer games, a lot of the time, so many are kinda dull to me in that with the exception of easter eggs of some sort, most farming sims, for example, just have you doing normal farm stuff with very few twists, may as well start a real farm in that case.

My most chill entry is a game that tosses that to one side, asks you to grab a suck cannon, and start harvesting gelatinous monster poop.

The 80’s are almost fetishized nowadays.Given all the property reboots, games that go for the vibe and aesthetic of the time, etc.It almost seems as though the eighties vibe train ain’t gonna stop rolling any time soon. But we owe it to ourselves to remember the first big swipe of madcap neon-colored actiony B-movie bullshit and how mind-meltingly epic it was.

Ladies, Gents, and whatever else, I present:.Blood Dragon’s story is relatively simple, you play Sargent Rex “Power” Colt A name said in full so many times I thought his last name was “Powercolt” for the longest time , a former “Omega force” cyborg.Rex and his friend “Spider” were sent into a secret island base to investigate the supposed defection and treachery of their old commander, Ike Sloan.

This was, and still is, the best game in the whole series, The powers felt distinct from anything else and still do, the story is solid as a rock, and the enemy types were still varied enough to be interesting, I miss the Reapers from the first game, but that’s about it.

Everything else was a massive step up.If you have something that can run it, play it.Action is something I think we can all appreciate on some level. We can understand when it does or does not work, we can understand when we do or do not like how it feels when we are the ones partaking in it.EX: Any schlep can tell you when the weapons in your game lack impact, or when your character moves too slow for the game to be fun.The following game is something I can’t say anything of the sort about.

And it’s kind of like Wolfenstein, when you have enemies this bad, who the hell cares how many you kill? Y’all are lying if you say you didn’t expect this one. It’s DOOM This game is made of hate and fuck. You move so fast, you may as well be half cheetah and half sports car.You slaughter the dregs of hell by the dozens and even the biggest, baddest things this game throws at you can be beaten with the starting pistol if you have the stones for it.It looks amazing graphically, the demons all look appropriately threatening, and even the Multiplayer is a great deal of fun in my book.

Something worth noting: The story presented by default is pretty barebones, but that’s where supplementary material fills in the gaps, the difference between supplementary material in most games and supplementary material here is the material is till IN THE GAME.

You’re free to ignore most of the plot as it happens around you, and even interesting tidbits of the lore like how certain demons function. Not only are these things missable collectibles, prompting continued play to find them, they are also pretty interesting reads. And here we are, the last game I’d put in this category.

An entire decade, and here, we end on the last game that left such an impact I’d put it in my top ten.But first, let’s talk about expectations and delivery: When you say a game is coming out, there are certain expectations you have for gameplay, EX: I say “Ratchet and Clank” and you expect a TPS with platforming elements and crazy guns.

I say “Gears of War” and people expect something to do with lumbering about in big armor, dismembering things with a chainsaw gun and otherwise shooting them to paste. We might also expect changes to things, better graphics, innovations in grenade variety, something as that franchise goes on.After the last game in this series was released, there were tons of people who felt let down and disappointed by it.

Then they released the still somewhat disappointing special edition of it.They were both still fun, but neither really felt like the full next step in the series. After a failed reboot, they returned to the original story and the lot of us rejoiced. And when it finally came out?

It was a step up in most, if not, all regards, to its predecessors. You know what this last one is.Please, give a warm round of applause to:.A game that was not only a return to form, but a major escalation in gameplay for one character, and a new style of gameplay all together by way of yet another new character.

It built very well on already solid foundations and it was generally just a fun, slightly goofy, massively stylish, and ultra badass ride.I recommend this, and all these games, to anyone.Good night everyone, have a great And the rest of the decade, for that matter.Title: Six Hours in Hell Word count: Trigger warnings: suicide ideation, suicidal thoughts, death, gore, blood, alcoholism.

It was hard to say what details got through to him when he was like this — drowning in self-reflection and not really seeing much outside of himself at all.

Thoughts rolled off one another like waves on beachrocks.

He hated feeling like he was at the mercy of the universe.A bitterly savage snarl rose from his chest at this thought, sounding very much like a wildcat.Since when did he care so much about the Judgment of bastard gods?

Being God, he should be able to live by his own damned rules Why is it that even now, his Fate not his own? Who were They to call the shots? How dare they dictate what he could and could not destroy! What he could and could not consume! Was it not a cosmic principle that Good could not exist without Evil? That law could not exist without Chaos?

The Greatest Evil this universe had ever known. The one meant to devour all.The black at the end of time, to which all life must surrender But first And he had to plan well First and foremost, he must eliminate all roadblocks of his own mental creation—starting with that accursed samurai.Once Jack was out of the way, then he would turn to the Resistance, make examples of every last one of them that had so foolishly stood against him all this long time.

Crucify them, hang them from the trees in the Forest of Aku.Stake their matted carcasses on poles, let the crows pick at them, let all his visitors pass through their mangled corpses and be watched by their hollow sightless eyes as they decomposed.Let such horror be a lesson to all who would stand against him! And finally, once these physical obstacles were out of the way, then it would be time to work on problems within himself.

Find the motivation and courage to be socially-active again.Perhaps go out and make some friends, at last? Once Jack was out of the picture, there would be no one left to stand in his way, and he could finally get on with his life.At least, until the Gods chose a new champion. And by then, you can bet Aku would be ready and waiting for them, talons and tusks bared to rip them to shreds.

So he was going to do this But he couldn’t just charge into this blindly like last time.He had to plan every move, every foreseeable outcome and variable. He could no longer afford to leave this up to chance. And so, Aku unlocked his phone and opened his contacts app.The forest in which Jack was camped was eerily silent, and very very cold.Overhead, not a cloud stirred in the savage nighttime sky.

The world is so dark that even the stars and fingernail moon seemed insignificant and weak as candleflame.Chilly cold wind whistled through the trees, making dead, barren branches rattle together like bones. All around Jack, the landscape is black and foreboding.

Black as sin, black as coal, black as creeping death. He brought a hand up to trace the vicious scar which criss-crossed his face, feeling the raised flesh on his forehead, nose, and cheek with battle-hardened, numbed fingers.

His blind eye throbbed in its socket, with the memory of those vicious black talons that had swept across his face so many years ago.Jack gave a shuddering sigh, letting his hand fall from his face and back into his lap.All those innocents, their lives winking out in the night.Burning bright like sparks.Crying out for help that would never come — crying out that Jack would save them That they believed in him.

The unsettling green glow of the phantom samurai stepping between the gaps in the trees, that horrible steed looking upon him with its cold, dead eyes. But that was so long ago. Now, Jack looked upon him without fear, almost taking unconscious comfort at his presence. Some days it was all he could do to not come to him, ask that which only he could provide.Relief, salvation, freedom from this chain of his own making. His presence was grounding, like the knowledge that the Earth was spherical, or that time would continue to plod forward, or that there was still an afterlife waiting — sweet relief from this hell on Earth Pitying, even.

Where are you going? What if I His numbed fingers clenched hard at the neck of the bottle he held in his other hand, bringing it to his lips with a shaking hand, feeling great gouts of alcohol spilling down his beard. The Second looked upon him for a long few seconds, and where his gaze pricked his skin Jack could swear his soul was burning.

Some other Fate has been chosen for you.The Gods all agree you are no longer worthy to bear this weight. Some other will rise in your stead to carry on where you have left off.

This is the End of your Journey.Eat some of your rabbit Perhaps beg forgiveness of your Gods for your sins of the flesh And with that, the Second walked to his steed and pulled its reins to bring the beast to its feet. The demon horse gave a snort as it was saddled and its master climbed upon its back.

Jack was left reeling in the sudden silence, standing now as he stared into the thick of the trees, trying to make out the creeping, glowing silhouette of what he had once thought would be his eternal companion. He exhaled softly, his breath leaving him in a cloud of vapor, watched after him a moment longer and then sighed, sitting down in front of the fire once again. He reached for the rabbit and lifted its stick out of the heat, picking at its scrawny flesh with tired fingers.

There was a time where he would have scorned such an intonement.Let them try, he would have said, to anyone that had it out for him.But now These old memories. These old scars. These old bones The Peace of Oblivion sounded He shut his eyes, tasting nothing as he chewed the bland, malnourished meat.In his mind, the vision of his mother and father rose to greet him, blinding white in the darkness of his failing sanity.

It was always disappointment and hurt on their faces; an unconscious projection of his guilt for having failing them.Eyes still closed, he brought the flask to his lips and drank from it again, but all this seemed to do to their memory is bring them into clearer focus. In his mind, Jack pressed his face into her shoulder, hiding from her and his father the agony this never-ending journey had caused him.He was supposed to be strong. He was supposed to be unflinching, unyielding To think he had fallen so far from grace, had forgotten his purpose, had failed them so profoundly, had left them behind to rot.

We are here for you.We are waiting for you.For the first time in a long while, the man that once called himself Samurai Jack hung his head and cried. It had been four hours and six minutes since Aku had learned Jack had lost his sword.

Aku felt more alive than he had in centuries, standing now at the outermost circumference of the forest, only barely concealed by the trees. He breathed in deep the cool, wintry smell of pine needles and wet earth, feeling very much at home surrounded by the dead husks of ancient trees which withered quietly and slowly around him; such a setting called forth his oldest memory, awakening in the withered forest of old, standing with his horns cresting the clouds– looking upon the first of his many many victims.

Other than the hellish ambiance which so often accompanied him wherever he went, the forest tonight is deadly quiet.Dead, almost. Not even a single creature stirred itself at the sight of him; as if the entire world was holding its breath in the wake of his evil.A terrible dread sits upon the world tonight.Dread of wrongs to come.Dread of death, like the weight that sits in ones stomach staring down the jaws of Oblivion.

Tonight the world is brisk He could see for miles in every direction, even in this stubborn darkness where even the pale white light of the moon seemed so very insignificant — this world of black which quenched even the stars. There was a time, not so long ago in the grand scheme of things, where such challenges as the one Jack presented were readily abound.Aku could not take even a single step before meeting resistance, either in the form of an elusive prey, or some great lost treasure, or a divine power source just out of reach.

But like so many other things in this pitiful, weak little world, one by one they gave in and surrendered to his might like sandcastles before the certainty of a creeping tide.So why is it that Jack did not fall like so many others? Could it be that Jack was his very moral compliment? Created by the Gods to thwart his every step, keep him from reaching his former strength? His keeper of sorts? Aku had heard of such a cosmic arrangement before — some great good created to counter some great evil.

Like all the others that had come before Jack, so too would the little Samurai have no choice but to surrender Before departing the citadel, Aku had made all the necessary arrangements to ensure this monumental task went off without a hitch.

He could see that now.But with time had come hard-won experience, and tonight there would be no more mercy.Beetle drones by the thousands There was so many of them would be no cutting their ranks. In addition to these, wasp drones clot the sky in the far distance, waiting for the slightest summons if they should be necessary.Mantroids, too, behind the Beetle drones. And behind the Mantroids, rows and rows and rows of armored vehicles, manned with highly-trained flesh-and-blood barbarians, hungry to rip and tear and maim and maul A wine brewed with the a certain special and incredibly rare ingredient Ichor, if technical names interest you.

Drinking such a wine would render anyone temporarily invincible.Let Jack try to cut him, if he dared! All the pieces were in place Oh yesss. But then One, then two, then many, and an insectoid leg steps delicately from the black with all the grace of a dancer. Then another leg, and another and another, hundreds of legs in fact step out of the puddle, pulling a hideous, segmented body out of the murk which soon became so long that it had no choice but to back out of the forest.

After a long few seconds, when the puddle had almost run dry, the tide of legs and segments slows down, and the first of seven pairs of arms braces itself on dry land to pull its upper body free. The upper half of it looked very much like it usually did, large staring eyes topped with those familiar flaming eyebrows.Hooked human-like nose. But the bottom half is where things got interesting His jaws jutted from his face almost like goblin sharks, his entire lower jaw almost disconnected from his face his overbite was so pronounced.

Large fleshy tongue squatting unpleasantly in his mouth like a salamander.Large clots of saliva oozed between the gaps in his teeth, dripping to the ground in shining ropes which caught the moonlight and sparkled with evil and wrongness.

Yesssssss, thought Aku with a satisfied hiss from his snaggle-toothed jaws, tongue slipping between his teeth looking very much like a gecko. This form would do nicely for the task at hand He raised his many hands to the sky, and a swirling vortex of clouds choked out what little light was afforded by the moon.He was always a creature of darkness. He lived it, breathed it, created it; it was his element. And with that, he set forth into the woods — his many hands shoving aside trees indiscriminately, that long segmented body with its many legs tearing huge holes in the Earth.

The Beast pushed aside the last of the trees in its way with a heavy crash of felled wood and stood there staring at him for a long, long few seconds.Strange, thought the Beast as it scented the air, staring down its prey with blinkered eyes totally dead of feeling.

Its prey was unafraid of him.It could not recall the last time it had faced something that could look upon his true form and not run screaming. One of his many insectoid legs stabbed harshly into the ground behind him, sending up a wet cloud of dirt.Jack looked upon him for a long long few seconds, seeming to take his sweet time registering who this creature is supposed to be.He even had the sheer audacity to take a sip of his vodka before he tossed the bottle aside and shoved himself to stand, a little wobbly on his feet.

Another few seconds as he attempted to grasp what he was looking at, and then he spoke.Only the most modest of rags covered him.Jack watched back, too drunk and too tired and too hurt to do much else except stare death right in the face.

It suits you Jack looked back into those cold, dead inhuman eyes, feeling nothing. No fear.No regret. No pain.Just peace. It stood there for a very long time, just holding onto the body, looking upon it, digging its claws into its dead flesh, struggling to comprehend what the fuck just happened.A low chuckle escapes him. Then a louder one.I saw this list on Pinterest out of nowhere, and what better way to ring in the new year than with another questionnaire, about my favorite pastime!
